Quietly secluded, close to the fun.

With its soft white beaches and brilliant sunsets over the Gulf, Mexico Beach has long been a favorite for sand and surf seeking vacationers. And, over the past decade, it has also become a hub of activity on the Forgotten Coast.

Mexico Beach has evolved as multi-generational, family-oriented coastal community located just 22 miles east of Panama City, and makes up the eastern tip of Bay County with roughly 1,100 permanent residents. Established in 1952, families have been returning here to make memories for generations. For years, the sleepy little community awoke with summer festivities for the “season,” beginning Memorial Day and ending Labor Day. Now, due to effective tourism marketing efforts and new accommodations, Mexico Beach offers a year-round seaside lifestyle.

Mexico Beach’s three-mile beachfront strip continues into the neighboring communities of Beacon Hill and St. Joe Beach, where you’ll cross into Gulf County and the Eastern time zone. Still, life moves slowly here as well. Gulf County offers pet-friendly beaches, bonfires and a wide variety of recreational activities at Beacon Hill Park overlooking the gulf.

Conveniently located between Port St. Joe and Panama City, yet peacefully secluded, it’s easy to see why the friendly communities of Mexico Beach and St. Joe Beach continue to grow year after year.
